Employees from the Harrogate office of Capita UK recently donned their gardening gloves to join our Help at Home team with a spot of jungle management. The nine-strong team spent the day helping to cut back a very overgrown local garden for its owner, a client of our handyman service. The team worked hard, filling 16 garden waste sacks, transforming the garden and making a huge difference to the neighbourhood.

The volunteering was part of a company-wide initiative which encourages employees to give a day per year of their working hours to assist a good cause.

Charlie Dandy of Capita UK said: “We all had a great day and felt a real sense of achievement when we had finished, especially when we saw the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures!”

Andy Storr, Help at Home Support Worker, added:  “Tackling such a huge job would have taken ages for our small team. With Capita UK on board, it really was a case of many hands make light work. Not only is it greatly appreciated by the client, I’m sure their neighbours will appreciate the effort too!”

Help at Home is always keen to hear from organisations, who can spare a few hours to assist with bigger gardens and decorating across the Harrogate District.
