Ride to the rescue for HELP

Covid-19 has had a devastating effect on our income at a time when our services are needed more than ever. To help UK charities recover some of their lost fundraising income, the My Prudential RideLondon is holding a free festival of cycling on 15-16 August. This event is suitable for any age, any ability and any wheels. You can also take part wherever you live in the UK.

We’re inviting you to do your ride, your way, for HELP

How do I get started?

Register with My Prudential RideLondon

Choose your challenge

Cycle rides – Choose from three different distances of 19, 46 or 100 miles

Free Cycle – Travel in style on the non-motorised wheels of your choice (scooter, unicycle, tandem, skateboard etc.) and cover at least 1 km

These can take place wherever you live in the UK and are free to enter.

Set up your fundraising page. If you’re using social media don’t forget to use the hashtag #MyPRL and tag @HELP_Harrogate (Twitter) @helpharrogate (Instagram and Facebook) to help spread the word.

Take part

From 10 August you can download the ‘My Prudential RideLondon app’ to track and log your ride. Your supporters can even track your progress in real-time by following you on the app.

Sit back and relax

Once you’ve finished your challenge and it’s been tracked by the app, you can download and print your personalised finisher certificate. There are even selfie frames to create your own finisher photos of you ‘virtually’ riding down the Mall to the finish line

What are the rules?

To keep you safe during your challenge, you are asked to:

  • Observe the Highway Code and the current Government guidance on social distancing during the event
  • Wear a helmet
  • Enable GPS to track your ride when using the My Prudential RideLondon App
  • Complete your challenge on either 15 or 16 August
  • Ensure the roadworthiness of your chosen mode of transport. See cycling safety information.
  • Adhere to any age restrictions

Please see MyRideLondon for full details

How will my fundraising make a difference?

Any funds raised will help pay for equipment needed to keep our volunteers and staff safe. It will also pay towards our vans’ fuel and running costs. All this will ensure we can continue to be ‘Here to HELP’ those who need us in the Covid-19 recovery period and beyond. Thank you
