Voluntary car driving service update: We are now working with a small team of volunteer drivers to offer transport to passengers without any other means to attend Covid-19 vaccinations, health appointments and to reach other local destinations. Please read our eligibility criteria for using the service here and to book your journey contact us Monday- Friday 9am – 4pm:

At this challenging time, we know many people across the district are in need of practical and emotional support. For those of you without family, friends and neighbours to turn to, we want to reassure you that we are ‘Here to HELP’.
Our dedicated volunteers are working with us to offer the following support in the wake of the pandemic:
Reconnecting you with your community – if you are feeling nervous about venturing out after months of staying at home, we can assist. Our volunteers may be able to accompany you to help you get used to getting out and about again.
Information and signposting – if you are unsure about local services that can help you, or activities going on locally, we can put you in touch with local sources of support.
Food shopping and prescription collections – we arranged help with this during the lockdowns and still have some volunteers who can help if you are suddenly told to isolate or if options like online shopping or pharmacy delivery services would not work for you. If you would like to do these things yourself but you don’t have transport or you haven’t been out much over the past year, do have a chat with us as our drivers are happy to support and accompany you.
Befriending– Along with our partners, we have volunteer befrienders across the district. If you live near Harrogate or Boroughbridge, we can refer you to our partner organisations Supporting Older People and Boroughbridge Community Care for befriending support. If you live in Ripon and the surrounding villages, our team in Ripon can offer you the support of a regular befriender who is here to listen and chat.
