HELP us to HELP others!
We need volunteers for a variety of roles including gardening, DIY & decorating, support for carers, befriending, driving and errands, supporting trips out and much more. Click here to find out more about our current volunteering roles.
As a volunteer with HELP you will receive full training for your role, out of pocket expenses, a chance to learn new skills, fun and friendship, social events, references for future employment and full support from HELP staff.
If you are thinking about volunteering with HELP but aren’t sure whether it’s for you, here are some answers to questions you may have:
Q: I can’t commit the time on a regular basis:
A: All our volunteering opportunities are flexible to fit in with your availability. Opportunities are available for both ad-hoc and regular volunteering.
Q: I don’t think I have the right skills?
A: There are no specific skills required to volunteer with us. All we ask for is for your enthusiasm. Any training and support is provided by us.
Q: Will I be out of pocket?
A: We reimburse our volunteers for mileage (45p per mile) and other reasonable out of pocket expenses.
And if you still not sure whether it’s for you:
Our volunteers tell us that they derive great satisfaction from giving something back to the community, as well as learning new skills and using existing ones. Above all, it’s fun and a great way to meet new people. In a recent survey, 100% of our volunteers told us they felt valued as part of the HELP team – so why not give it a go!
