CLAD Safety has donated 125 hi-vis vests for use by volunteers supporting the work of local charity, the Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP).

HELP’s team will wear the donated hi-vis vests while volunteer marshalling at the Covid-19 vaccination centres in Harrogate and Ripon. The HELP volunteers are playing their role alongside volunteers from the district’s other Community Support Organisations in the smooth running of the mass vaccination centres. They are helping to support vaccination attendees in a number of ways including: meeting and greeting, directing attendees to their vaccination pods and assisting with car parking arrangements.

Yorkshire based CLAD Safety, is a leading national supplier of technical workwear and PPE to many core UK industries including construction, rail, and utilities. On this occasion they wished to support a local charity and responded to HELP’s appeal for branded vests, which would help identify the volunteers as marshals working with HELP. Neil Trevvett, Managing Director at CLAD Safety said:

“We have seen how HELP’s volunteers have been providing the local community with vital support including shopping, running errands and phone befriending over the pandemic. When they approached us for support to supply branded hi-vis vests for their volunteer marshals we were delighted to provide them with these items.”

Frances Elliot, CEO of HELP’s parent charity, Harrogate and District Community Action, added: “One thing we have seen shine through over the past 12 months is how the local community has come together to support one another. This generous donation from CLAD Safety epitomises this amazing community spirit. We are extremely grateful to them for supporting our work.”

HELP’s volunteers are additionally assisting people without any means of transport to get to and from the district’s vaccination centres and to make other essential health journeys. For information about eligibility criteria, and HELP’s other Covid-19 support services, please get in touch:
